Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 10, 2026
1. Information We Collect
The Glow App
The Glow application does not collect personal information from you, and it does not currently collect usage analytics or diagnostic data. Everything the App does is processed locally on your Mac.
Information Involved When You Interact With Us
Limited personal information is involved when you purchase or contact us outside the App:
- Purchases: When you buy Glow, our payment provider Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, and payment and billing/tax information to process the transaction. We receive only limited order information (such as the email used for the purchase) to validate licenses and handle refunds.
- Support & Contact: If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message in order to respond to you.
- Free Trial: Operating the free trial may require limited technical information to manage the trial period and prevent abuse.
Future Analytics
We may introduce optional diagnostics or usage analytics in a future version to help us improve the App. If we do, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before collecting such data.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Process purchases, deliver license keys, and handle refunds.
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- Operate and protect the free trial.
- Comply with our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for their privacy practices:
- Lemon Squeezy (payments): Processes your purchase and billing data. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
- Apple / macOS: The platform on which the App runs.
4. Data Security and Processing
We take appropriate measures to protect any information managed by the application, ensuring your privacy is secured.
Local Processing
Glow operates strictly locally on your device. The analysis required to apply "Liquid Glass" effects, blur, and wallpaper adaptation is performed using your Mac's local resources (GPU/CPU). No visual information or configuration data is ever sent to external servers.
macOS Permissions
To function correctly (e.g., hiding icons, managing the menu bar layout), the application may require Accessibility or Screen Recording permissions (strictly to capture the menu bar icons). Any screen capture is processed in real time, in memory, and is never saved to disk or transmitted off your device. You have full control over these permissions and can revoke them at any time via macOS System Settings.
5. Data Retention
Your settings are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the App. Order records and support emails are retained only as long as necessary to provide support, handle refunds, and meet our legal and tax obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Children's Privacy
Glow is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant updates by posting the revised policy on our website or within the application.
9. Disclaimer
Glow is a customization tool that interacts deeply with the macOS system interface. While we strive to maintain compatibility with every macOS version, operating system updates by Apple may temporarily affect the application's functionality. Glow is not responsible for incompatibilities caused by beta versions or unofficial modifications of the operating system.
